quote:"For me it’s an absolute NO THANKS on Vanessa Hudgens playing this role. If I had my pick, I’d give the part right to Smallville alum Kristin Kreuk. Forgetting about that Chun-Li fiasco, Kreuk has grown a lot since her Smallville days and has that good girl/bad girl duplicity that would make for a great Jessica Drew."
Magnus the host of the Chuck Gasmic spoke about Kristin in his latest podcast broadcasting. He spoke about how he won't be watching Hitched now that Kristin off it, that he wishes she was on Chuck longer because he believe because of her departure the ratings dropped for Chuck and much more. Fast foward to 42:30 to take a listen:
quote:"The switch was made yesterday just before the multicamera pilot’s table read - Our sources says Kristin will still have "some sort of role", just it won't be the lead.
It's okay... We know Kristin is planning some other big stuff!!"
I shall now hand out the salt shaker so each and everyone of you can take this with a grain of salt.
quote:"In a last-minute recasting, Sara Fletcher has been tapped as the female lead on Josh Schwartz’s comedy pilot for CBS Hitched. Fletcher replaces Smallville alumna Kristin Kreuk, who was originally cast in the role. The switch was made Wednesday, just before the multicamera pilot’s table read."
Added 230+ screen captures from the first part of Ben-Hur into the gallery, the second part captures will be added once I have some time to capture it:
With that said and done, I must say I was surprised by the mini series because it managed to keep my attention throughout it even though Kristin was in it for 10 minutes max! The whole cast were all amazing... it's a shame though that some won't give this mini series a chance due to their bias of the 1959 remark.
Ben-Hur co-star Emily VanCamp, mentions Kristin in a eTalk interview.
Transcript:
quote:"eTalk Host: And speaking of, the raising star has nothing but praise for fellow Canadian and co-star... Emily VanCamp: Kristin Kreuk! Who I LOVE! She's the sweetest human being, absolutely brilliant, clever... "
quote:"Well I didn't get to take a picture with her, but it was more of a personal choice. I work at a movie theatre in Richmond, BC and I was there before my shift to watch a movie. I was with my friend and noticed Kristin standing in the line for concession and had a little bit of a freak out before going up to ask for an autograph. Like I said, I didn't take a picture because I didn't want to make a scene when all my co-workers and managers were there. My theatre is actually notorious for having celebrities there while they're filming in Vancouver. When the Twilight cast was there, I saw Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez but I was working and definitely could not go up to get an autograph at that time. Anyway, Kristin was really nice. She asked me for my name and signed my ticket stub (lol it was the only piece of paper I had on me) and gave me a hug. Really, really nice. Especially since I think she was with her sister and her dad."
Laura Vandervoort (V) mentions Kristin in Fancast.com interview:
quote:"Is the ‘V’ set anywhere close to where in Vancouver they shoot ‘Smallville’? Run into an old castmates? No, we shoot ‘V ‘on the North Shore, so they’re not that close. But I did see Kristin Kreuk (ex-Lana) the other day, walking near where I live. So that was nice!"
quote:"Sharon Lawrence has joined the cast of Josh Schwartz's comedy pilot for CBS "Hitched."
The ensemble project, which Schwartz co-wrote with Matt Miller, centers on a newlywed couple, Rachel (Kristin Kreuk) and Brett (Jack Carpenter), dealing with their family and friends.
Veteran Lawrence will play Rachel's prim, well-meaning but nosy mother.
Lawrence, repped by APA and Imperium 7, was recently seen in guest appearances on "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Community" and "The Mentalist.""
To quote twitter user dawny -- "Sharon Lawrence+ Kurtwood Smith does not = Kristin Kreuk."
Agree 110% and gotta admit I'm pretty disappointed they didn't go with an Asian actress to play Kristin's mother...
quote:"Still, I kept comparing it to the 1959 version, and Heston’s portrayal loomed large in my head. Though it touches on the requisite beatings, sexy relationships and gory sword fights, it does so with an eye to a family audience. And as family viewing, it works.
Me, though? I’m not asking for brutality at the level of, say, the Starz series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. And I can even put up with the British accents that seem to (unrealistically) saturate these types of period epics.
But I yearned for a slightly grittier portrayal. The story is powerful because of the tension between Judah and Messala, Rome and Judaea. The harsh nature of the times. The anguish of a man wrongfully condemned and his revenge.
And you get that with this Ben Hur. Just not at a Heston level."
There were sightings of Kristin at last years Comic Con or at least around San Diego around the same time as Comic Con, now here's picture proof that she was there:
CBC.ca post a Ben-Hur Promo on their site. Sadly for everyone who's not in Canada, it's only Canadian friendly. If someone can youtube it or screen capture it, that'll be greeeattt!
