How do you impose yourself on that trio, in the middle of Tom & Michael?

“It’s easy. I never had in any moment the feeling that I have to impose myself because we are all three of us equal, in a show where our three characters have a place.”

So you think except Clark Kent there’s others important roles?

“Of course! (laughs).Everyone has his own character, who makes him different of the others, so there is really a important role for each of us.”

In your opinion, at the moment when there are a lot of TV shows, why Smallville is different?

“Because Superman is an universal theme for all the family, especially since we’re interested in his childhood…The others shows don’t touch so much perhaps because
they talk about powers, monsters…(laughs). Our trio is also doing a lot in identification.”

What do you think that Hollywood is considered like the capital of “machismo”?

“I don’t really have the feeling that Hollywood is “machismo”… And I spend the most of my time in Vancouver. Since the beginning of my career, I didn’t see any differences yet compared with the fact that I’m a woman, today I think that mentalities change in the good way, so I’m not complaining.”

So, when a real love story between Clark and Lana?

“At the end of their adolescence, they become friends… It’s later that Clark will fall in love with Lois…
That gave the name of the show “Lois and Clark”. That show existed before Smallville, so the scriptwriters couldn’t do anything else… At my biggest regret (laughs). But who knows… Perhaps at the end of an adventure, Clark will fall in Lana’s arms!”

Don’t you be afraid that Smallville shut you away in a role?

“No, because in US there are less barriers and etiquette than in Europe. I know that here it’s difficult because if you’re actor, people put you in a box and like to let you here to not make any untidiness… But look in US: Will Smith, Johnny Depp or George Clooney all did movies with success. But It’s true that I’m not going to stay eternally in Lana’s role. I really would like to explore others universes. But I never dreamt about an international career, I just want to be concentrated in Canada, the rest will follow later…”

Now that we now that the scriptwriters are not considering doing an official relationship between Clark and Lana, what type of men must we be to have a chance to seduce you?

“Tom Welling’s type for example ! (laughs). More seriously, I need a simple man, who makes me laugh.”
