Kreuk Out With Beau
Vancouver Province - September 24, 2004

Vancouver's own supergirl, Kristin Kreuk - Smallville's Lana Lang - finally made a public appearance with her boyfriend, Vancouver actor Mark Hildreth (Earthsea, The Dead Zone, the pending Eighteen and a ton of voice work), although the fiercely private actress did her best to distance herself from her date at the Brightlight Pictures party at Cin Cin earlier this week.

Publicists said the pair were just friends. Hildreth, a busy but relatively low-key actor, was making the run up the red carpet representing his latest film, Everyone. He stars as one half of a gay couple  in Bill Marchant's relationship comedy, which debuts at the Vancouver Film Festival Oct. 6.

Hildreth is launching a music career with the Mark Hildreth Band. His production partner and bandmate is Jory Groberman, who's producing NewMusicWest in November. (Reminder to bands: submission deadline is Sept. 30.) They recently sent a demo to Sony in New York and go a positive response, although now they have to wait for the dust to settle in the wake of the BMG/Sony merger.

The band played the Media Club Wednesday. Kreuk was there but remained out of sight. Also among the supporters: JR Bourne, who has just been cast in Carl Bassai's vampire-themed Claring - yet another Brightlight production.
