TV Series & Stars Part10: SCREEN Special Edition
Kristin Kreuk came in the interview room. This spokesperson of Neutrogena has very beautiful skin. Even if you are not Clark Kent, you'll instantly love her exotic chinese-mother-inherited-beauty.
What kind of person is Lana Lang?
KK: "I think she’s disliked injustice and she always looks ahead and she is a good girl."
So you play that kind of the character. Do you ever want to break the good-girl-image?
KK: "Of course. Actually, in the second season, Lana gets stronger and speaks what she thinks and what's on her mind. Sometimes she’s upset, sometimes she makes mistakes. She is just a normal teenager. And I guess I could play Lana who gets interested in Clark."
What kind of person do you think you are?
KK: "I think I'm smart but definitely not aggressive. And I'm an indoor person. I'm shy and I want to change that part...but I guess I've learned to be more social after I came into this world."
You could be a diva, you know?
KK: "Well, some people are like, 'why don't you just be like a diva?', but I just can't. No one is acting like a diva on the set of Smallville. Everyone treats each other equally."
Kristin is really down to earth, but what does she feel about being a star of a popular TV series and being a celebrity?
KK: "It's really weird that when I go shopping and see myself on the covers of magazines. I could say it's scary.
Now I wear a hat when I go out and I don't go near the magazine stands. It's great to get attention from everyone, but at the same time not so great. It has both good parts and bad parts."
Is that a kind of pressure that you feel as a young actress being on a popular TV drama?
KK: "I don't feel that much pressure. That's probably because I live in Vancouver, my hometown. If I lived in Los Angeles, maybe I feel more pressure. They shoot Smallville in Vancouver so I can meet my family and old friends and go to my favorite shops and places even during shooting. I guess I'm very lucky."
What do you do on your free time?
KK: "I love reading so I spend many hours reading books. Also I like to talk to my friends, go to movies, and walk around the city and the beach. And I like to find places where you can be completely alone. Places where no one is out there, just me. Then I sing out loud. I'm so bad at singing I can't sing where people are around. You can find these kinds of places here in Vancouver."
I guess Kristin looks a lot like Lana.
