The Legend of Chun-Li - Weekday Press Coverage

Posted by Webmistress posted on 05-09-08 10:16am

Eurogamer.net:
quote:
"The part of Chun-Li will be played by lovely Smallville [and Edgemont - Dep Ed] star Kristin Kreuk, but Justin Marks sees her in more of a Ripley from Aliens role than any-of-them from Dead or Alive."
Kotaku.com:
quote:
"Justin Marks, writer of the Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li film, is aware that most gamers have wanted to wed Chun-Li (and possibly worse) since we were yay high, but it looks like we can expect a dignified treatment of the leading lady, played by Smallville actress Kristin Kreuk."
1up.com:
quote:
"The new Street Fighter movie is moving along steadily, with casting confirmations coming in at a regular pace and the line-up actually (amazingly) not seeming terrible."

Justin Marks' Interview on Street Fighter

Posted by Webmistress posted on 05-06-08 9:52am

Justin Marks, writer of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li was interviewed by Joblo.com and here's what he had to say on Kristin and one of the reasons why she took the role:
quote:
"The second factor is Kristin herself. She's really something special, a fantastic actress and very selective about what she will and won't do, because she knows that lots of girls out there are really impressionable. So we've gone to great lengths to make sure Chun-Li is not just a sex object fantasy for people's desktop backgrounds. That was something Kristin made very clear, and we're honored that she's willing to go that route, because it's one of the factors that's going to elevate this above adolescent video-game adaptation."

TheWB Will be BACK with Smallville episodes ONLINE!

Posted by Webmistress posted on 04-30-08 1:18pm

From Google.com:
quote:
"Warner Bros. says it's launching two Web sites to capture new ad revenue and a younger generation of viewers.

Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros. Television Group says TheWB.com will replay full episodes of shows such as "Friends" and "Smallville" along with made-for-online shows. The site is set to launch in a test format next month."
From LATimes:
quote:
"Its website, TheWB.com, is scheduled to debut in August and will feature episodes of such popular Warner Bros.-produced series as "Friends," "The O.C." and "Gilmore Girls." However, Rosenblum believes that original programming created specifically for the Internet ultimately will be a bigger hit among the under-35 audience that advertisers seek."
TheWB site is up with a default interface at the moment!

Chinese 'Street Fighter' Press

Posted by Webmistress posted on 04-29-08 8:16pm

From News.Sina.com.hk:
quote:
"Josie Ho falls in love with Chun Li

Josie Ho is currently in Thailand working on her first western film "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li". She will be playing the character Cantana, a lesbian, who will play the "love interest" of Kristin Kreuk who plays Chun Li. From the film, Cantana and Chun Li are originally enemies, but when Chun Li finds out that Cantana is a lesbian, she pretends to be one as well in order to seduce Cantana for revenge, which ultimately leads to their fight scene. Although filming process only started last week, Josie Ho already has many bruises.

Also, the production company for this movie has already established an official blog site where updates on filming and storyboards can be seen."
From Yesitv.com:
quote:
"Hollywood film producers has already produced a movie based on the video game "Street Fighter" in 1994 and now, 14 years later, they're producing a new version called "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li".

"The Legend of Chun-Li" will be filmed in Thailand (Bangkok), Hong Kong and Vancouver, starring Kristin Kreuk who plays Chun Li, Josie Ho, Pei Pei Cheng, Michael Clark Duncan and Chris Klein and directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and Dion Lam as the stunt director. Currently the crew is in Thailand filming and Josie will be flying there today to join them.

Josie told the interviewer on the phone: "My scenes are mainly fighting with Chun Li and there's a particular scene where Chun Li and I are on top of a very tall building. We fight until we're at the very bottom and then the building collapses." We asked Josie if she bought insurance and she replies "The film company has already bought it for all actors." For the fight scenes, Josie has already started preparing three months ago, mainly learning boxing and Tae Kwon Do."
